It depends on what you are looking for.. There are a number of brakes and cost vary. I have had the turbo mounted brake(PacBrake) and new they are in the $700 + or - a few bucks. I ran this brake for about 10k and took it off.
I ran onto a US Gear D'celerator(sp?) which is as you know a remote brake that mounts down stream in the exhaust system. The brake really holds and lasts.. The brake I have was used for 40k by a member over on the TDR. When he decided to sell his truck he removed it and sold it to me. I have had the brake on the truck for 20k and it has worked great.
One of the cool parts about this brake is that there are no holes in the baffle to keep the back pressure below critical levels. The US Gear uses a wastegate to bypass the baffle when the back pressure reaches the preset limits. You have the option of running 60lb springs if you have them or running the stock 30lb springs(12v). All I did since I didnt have the 60lb springs was order the 30lb wastegate..
I also monitor the back pressure with a copper line connected to a port provided on the brake itself.
Anyway..if you want one of these units..they are about $1200 but I have also seen them on either the DTR or TDR or even Ebay for as little as $650..
