Excessive smoke

With my 99 I'm getting excessive smoke when taking off or coming out of corners, I mean a lot. Will a boost leak cause this or something else. All new HP parts as on my Signature. Lots of power but seems to load up @ slow speeds like traffic, until it hits higher RPMs. it's fine. Thanks

Really, that's strange? I don't understand why an over fueled truck with big tires and 3.55's would lug out of the whole and smoke.

My 01 I had was set up pretty much the same, with stock turbo and a 6 speed and had way less smoke, and I got these sticks claiming almost same smoke as stock. I'm talking lots of black smoke.

Super B....... or Super B special?
What setting on your Edge Box?
Big difference between 6 speed and auto in terms of low speed smoke control.
Locking out OD under 55 or 60 mph will help a lot. Key is to keep rpms up anyway you can.
And....don't know the Culhane tranny, but a tight converter will add to the problem.

Super B, not Special, with TCS Billet TC, and on any setting. I hate the 355s and am looking to get 410s or 456s with the 35" tires, just thought maybe a Boost leak could cause this or maybe just being lugged down all the time makes it smoke so much, a real attention getter for cops. When running above 2000 RPMs no smoke at all. Thanks

With Super B... you should not be having that much pre-boost smoke. Those turbos are as fast as the factory HX-35.... maybe faster.
What's you top end boost read?
You said she pulls hard at higher RPM.... clears up and pulls hard? ..... so I don't see a boost leak being the problem?

I have the same issue with my 33" tires and 3.55 gears. I find if I take O.D. off before I gun it makes a difference. Once the turbo gets to 10+ p.s.i the smoke is gone. A gear change will make a big difference, that is my next upgrade.

I'm thinking 410s or maybe even 456s w/ my 35s, what do you all think, I only want to do it once. It's the lag after I slow down or take off from a stop, after that it clears pretty good. Towing sucks with 354s and 35" tires, always out of OD.

From 32" to 35", with 4.10 = 3.75
From 32" to 35" with 3.73 = 3.41
http://www.tyres1.com/calculators.html

4.10 rear end is pretty drastic change, IMO. Even with 315's.
Dana has a 3.73. It's on my wish list. Better rpm at 70-80 mph cruise.
I priced the parts (front and rear) at around $700.00.

Very little difference, at cruise, between 6th and OD.
6th is .71, I believe.
OD is .69
But inability to choose a gear may make a big difference other than on the hwy? Hard to say.

What parts are necessary to change 354s to 410s and where is the cheapest place to get them, (but good quality though). Thanks for all the help. Also what price should I be looking @ for labor?
