Was a lag pig on my auto but should be more workable with your 6 speed. You'll just have to live with whatever lag you get in order to handle the EGT's. I suspect the newer 66's spool quicker than mine anyway.

when would it lite? when do the twins lite?

unless you tow a lot and want to tow w/ lots of power, I'm not a big fan of twins... they are slow to hit... I had HX35/12 on top S400 on bottom... sure, I had 20psi at 1500rpm, and it climbed steady from there. great for towing... but I didn't have 45psi till about 2300-2400... with the sps62, I've got 45psi before 2000rpm... 50psi on the twins didn't come in till after 2500rpm. w/ the 62, it's maybe 2100-2200... that's a substantial difference!

with the twins, if I was cruising along with 2500 on the tach, and I nailed it, it probably took 2 seconds or so before I saw 50psi... with the 62, it's INSTANT. the boost gauge might as well be a TPS readout at that RPM level.

Yeah Silver 62. There is a 3 gen guy just running Silver 62 pred and juice/ attitude and he hit 633 on the dyno. Pretty awesome for just single turbo, 50hp sticks, and stacked chips!

That responsiveness is what its all about I've heard lots of good things about twins, but slower spool seems common =\ Now if I could have boost at idle it might be worth twins though

I'd love to hear some more feedback on your setup RJ. Care to compare with Mr FN's experience with twins?

No, no, Doug suggested a Silver 62. Great cool and nice spool. Morken is running one on his 3rd gen and it spools like right now!!! It has a large wheel like the Silver Bullet... $1900.00 plus $150.00 for a down pipe. Sounds good to me. I just would like to chat with someone who has played with a Silver 62 on a 2nd gen???

Will do... would be interested myself! The 20 psi at 1500-1600 rpm for twins sounds about right and is why I said "lites right away". (20 psi at 1500 rpm is impressive...no?)
Will compare the other #'s for 45, 50 & 65 psi (my max).

I have driven a HX-35/S400 set up and noticed more lag than I'm use to.... but kind of hard to compare objectively since it was a 6 speeds.

RJ

I wouldn't be surprised if your BD twins light up better than the big/little combo. they seem to be a well matched set from everything I've read/heard recently
