egt temps with a #4 plate
I have a 180 pumnp and a #4 plate among other things. EGTs are pretty controllable (empty) with my set up. I found moving the plate back .010/.020 makes a big difference without much loss in power. Also timing really helped. Set up with the plate almost full forward (between 3/4 and full) and with timing at stock position could wrap the EGT needle around the stop post.
