EGT Probe

Just bought a Autometer EGT Gauge slightly used. It did not come with the probe. Does anyone have any experience with using a Isspro probe with a Autometer gauge? Is one better than the other?

Not sure about this, but I think the little brain box (comes with Isspro pyro's) has to use the appropriate thermocouple. As in I don't think they're interchangeable. I'm sure someone here knows for sure and will chime in

Yes, the probe is matched to the guage, or more specificaly, the amplifier box.

The info coming from the probe isn't enough to wiggle the needle on the guage,
so the box converts it to what the guage wants to see.

My Autometer EGT gauge does not use a box. The "brains" must be in the gauge itself. I would think that you will need to use the specific thermocouple for your gauge.

Thanks for the comments. I'll order a Autometer probe.
