EGT Help

OK Guys, I just installed my 3gsk, and #10 plate tonight. Big difference, too bad my tranny is slipping at full throttle. Now my problem is the egt's. Even at 3/4 throttle their climbing over 1250. Basically 0-60 i'm in 1300's or over. I have the 4" exh, and a BHAF. What else is going to help. I know keep my foot out of it, but what fun is that??? Also, in the cam plate kit from piers, it gave me a brass elbow, I assume for the turbo wastegate hose. But according to the instructions, it indicated my turbo didn't need it and said to skip that step. I haven't checked my timing, but was planning on getting it done and set to around 15 1/4. Would that be about right for my set-up? Also on that note. Anyone have a suggestion on a good diesel performance shop in the middle TN or lower KY area?
Any help with this would be appreciated...

By the way, my plate is mid setting (stock) and I didn't fool with the star wheel. I set my protusion eight on the gov retain nut at about 45 thousands. It sounds like it has a cam at idle in gear, so I'm going to bump up the idle a couple 100 r's.

With the 180 pump set your timing at 15.5 or 16. That should help. Scotty 2 intake system will help. How much boost are you making? Install the elbow.... you should be making 25-33 or so, that should help you egts a lot of you are only at 18-20.

After that 14 WG housing or a 16.

I am getting atleast 25psi of boost now. I haven't played around in it too much yet, and so far my eye is on the road and pyro. But I know I seen boost of atleast 25psi. So is the BHAF not really that good? A while ago I thought that was the way to go, by what everyone was saying...

The BHAF will help a lot compared to the stock filter. I would say 75-100 drop in egts plus a cool whistle of the turbo.

But the elbow in and shoot for about 30-33 pounds of boost.

Goodluck

I noticed no EGT drop after installing a BHAF but did see a drop with the Scotty II.....25 psi of boost is not enough for a #10 - that is why your egt's are so hot. With only a #10 you should not be running into egt trouble! INSTALL THE BOOST ELBOW!! You should be expecting 29-30 psi with the #10 on that pump......the lack of boost is more likely your egt problem.....
