OK fellas got the Airtex replacement installed on saturday. Wow what a difference. I had 12 psi at idle before, now I have 2o. At wot it would go right to 0 psi, now, I cant get it below 10 psi. For $180, I am very happy with it (long as it lasts) and the install was pretty easy too.

Now to the boost, nothing has changed. The highest I have seen it get is to 4. When I put the juice on level 3 and up, she will smoke like crazy, but I do think it should be faster.

So how do I find a boost leak? I can hear the turbo whistle good, but I am still a greenhorn to this stuff. Where do I go from here? Thanks all.

Glad to hear about your pump. I think you must be getting a false reading for your boost because if you only had 4psi your truck would be an absolute dog. You would't be able to go up a hill in high gear. Also, your exhaust temps would hit 1800* if you floored it for more than 10 seconds. Let us know how much of a dog it is but I don't think it's reading your boost pressures right.

Freddy I dont think it is as fast as it should be. When I gun it, it takes off pretty well. But then when it upshifts to 2nd or 3rd i guess , it does kinda bog a bit and it blows out massive amounts of black smoke. With the juice on level 5, I def think it should be faster though. I found out about that boost leak tester, so I put one together today on the clock, we'll see if it works.

Evidently if you are really blowing alot of black smoke, this can be a sign of a boost leak? And if this happens, you can melt a piston? Just things I read last nite once I learned how to search the forums.

I am going to test it out in a while and I will let yall know. Thanks for all the help.

HOLYCRAP I found the problem. The boot right beneath the turbo was popped off on one side. THERES YOUR SIGN. I popped it back on and checked the rest. Man I think this thing is faster now on stock setting than it was on level 5. I reckon it has been popped off since I got the truck. I guess I just did not know any better. Man, I am so much happier with my edge now. Thanks DTR.

Glad you found the problem and I bet with that big of a leak it made a world of difference for you. Now you can really put that JUICE to the test!

yeah i found the same leak in mine when i installed my juice and AFE, i forgot to tighten one of the clamps tight big difference now im moving on to an airdog to keep the fuel up there in the high psi range

Seriously this was a huge difference. I gunned it today and I beat a 350z. [B]y a good bit. Wow. It is WAY different and better, I feel like such a shortbus rider. Yet it does not smoke very much anymore. I need to learn to be nice to the tranny. I think this is good fellas I LOVE CUMMINS DODGE....
