Edge = Goofy tranny??

It seems to be a trend here about the goofy shifting of our tranny's.
It seems that most people with the problems have some kind of box. Could this be the issue?
I've got the Goofy 1-2 back-n-forth @ lite throttle, and seems to be starting in 2-3.
If you have had this problem and fixed it what did you do?

Try wrapping the black and orange wire coming from the alternator to the passenger battery and see if that helps. I did that on mine and it solved all of my issues.

I've seen that talked about quite a lot here. why all of a sudden would that affect the tranny?

Only goofy thing I can say about shifting is mine will sometimes shift from 2nd to 3rd a little to soon, as early as 22MPH and never more than 30. When you get a load behind you and it does this it can be a bit infuriating. The problem for me is just a little valve body tuning so I'm heading back to see Bill next month. Maybe they'll have a new trophy to display, last itme I talked to Bill he said the season was ending in September.

Not sure. Mine just started acting funky out of no where so I talked to my tranny builder and he told me to try it. I'll be darned if it didn't work. It insulates the wire and keeps the noise from the wire from going everywhere. I wrapped the wire in aluminum foil and then wrapped the foil in electrical tape to make it look nice and neat instead of backwood's redneck.

Yup. Mine started hunting lock up very rapidly. Put the foil on there and it stopped it.

Can you give me more explicit instruction on what you did?
Mine is doing the same thing now that I installed the Edge last week.
thanks!

I took a piece of aluminum foil and wrapped it around the entire length of the wire from the alternator to the battery. Then I wrapped everything up in electrical tape.

We have what we call our APPS noise isolator that is easy to install and cleans up the electrical noise the apps is seeing which is causing the converter to go in and out of lock up. You can also take it to the dealer and have the reflash on TSB 18-02-99 done to help out. That alone will sometimes fix the issue.

kantdrive55, I was getting ready to buy the DTT noise filter (same thing yall got for the most part) but my tranny guy told me to try the foil trick out first to try and save some money. Figured it can't hurt anything.

Your Governor Pressure Solenoid is crapping out if you are starting in 2nd. and getting the 2-1-1-2-2 shifting. It is not an APPS issue. You may want to check your fluid level, and if that is okay, you need some electronics. Mine started that shortly before the rebuild.
