Dyno Results
I just got back from the dyno & im very happy with the results.I installed a set of Don Morrison Mach 6 injectors & a Piers race vp44 & the results as follows. The first run i made was with my comp box off & she made 528.2 horse @ 2700 rpm & 1027.17 ft lb torque @ the same rpm.The second run was with the box on level 3 & it made 615.8 hp @ 3100 & 1073.36 ft lb @ 2700 rpm.The 3rd run was on level 5 & it made 631.7 hp @ 3100 & 1113.14 ft lb @ 2800 rpm. Then for the final run i gave her a little sniff of n20 & it made 700.2 hp @ 3100 & 1262.06 ft lb @ 2800 rpm. These runs were made in overdrive with the converter locked. The only problem was it would only hit 52 psi boost on the dyno.So after the runs the dyno operator wanted a ride so i took him out & got on it & it still only made 52 pounds of boost & it will easily make 65 to 70 psi on the street so i knew something was wrong. When we got back to the shop i found the boot on the outlet of the big turbo was ruptured.I ran to a local big truck shop & found a replacement & fixed it & i can hit 65 psi real quick again.Im just wondering if this was damaged prior to the runs on the dyno & if it was how much it hurt my numbers.Unfortunatly i didnt have time to dyno again so i dont know for sure.Anyways sorry so long just thought i would share my numbers.

Boy, I can't even imagine what your truck must be like with all that power. I'm happy (barely) at about 250 HP. Those are impressive numbers though. Sometimes I wish I had that kind of power too.........................

Kurt, good numbers. What did you pull off the big turbo? I normally run 65 on the street w/ 30 off the bottom turbo. On the dyno Sat I pulled mid 50s total and 25 off the big turbo. With mach 6s starting at 1400rpm I think I hit the govn. Before my boost is fully spooled. I watched videos of my dyno run and the smoke didnt really clear out till about a second or two before I hit the govn. at 3450rpm. I have a few ideas on how to help that, if it works I will let you know. Tim
Thanks guys, as far as getting back on the dyno soon i would like to in the next couple weeks just to see how much more i can squeeze out of it.Tim,Im not sure what the big turbo was doing as i wasnt watching that gauge & i just got this thing back together so i havent had a chance to do alot of testing & monitoring.I also need to add some more gauges to keep an eye one the drive pressure & intake temp. Its very hard to make huge numbers & i have alot of respect for the guys that can do it & hopefully i can add my name to the list of the big boys someday.

These runs were on a Land & Sea dyno wich is very simular to a dynojet.I have run on a dynojet in Joliet Il & it was within a couple of horse of the Land & Sea dyno so it is very comparable to the Dynojet. It is located in PortByron Il at Illinois Dyno Center. My twins turbos are the Piers HX40 & the HT3B.The 40 has the modified wastegate to dump both sides of the manifold. These were Nathan Wrights (Idaho CTD) turbos & he made over 700 with these on just #2 if i remember correctly.

A paltry 52 PSI and you still made 631HP?
That rocks!
Did you dyno on that same dyno when you made the 585 with the stock VP 44 and the Mach 5's? I thought I remembered that you did.
Looks like the new pump and the Mach 6's stepped it up nearly 50 HP!
I betcha with some more tuning and tweaking...you can make a bit more!

Hi Guys, I just picked up my twins (3B/40) from PDR. PDR thinks that the mach 6.0 are to big for the street. They suggest that I run a DD jammer 4 injector. I really want a big street injector but the smoke levels can't be to much beyond what I run currently. I have the comp box, HY-35 turbo and BD3 injectors. I hoping to be in the 600rwhp area as a daily driver and I think that the mach 6.0 are the hot ticket. I plan to use a cam and a ported head once funding premits. Also how good is the bottom end rpm range for these turbos. I bought these things site unseen, no demo rides and with no install instructions. The 5in tubes sure look cool though and the 3B turbo is huge...
Mike,
You can street drive 6's as long as you are under 3000 feet of elevation, even in hot weather.
Plenty of folks have a 5 or 6 and run them everyday, everywhere.
Watch the trucks that run them and you will be amazed at how clean they run.
No they dont burn the tops of pistons off like some people are saying they do. Thats ridiculous
No the spray angle is not detrimental. As a matter of fact they get more fuel in the combustion bowl where it belongs than any other design.
At Muncie, every truck that ran 5's or 6's using twins, either the 40/3B set up or the B-1/B-2 combo ran the quarter mile in the 12 second range. Everyone dynoed above or near 600 HP on a terrible day. Even the big fuel delivering Bully Dog 8's could not manage over 560 HP.
Here is a great video of HOSS in the Red Rocket running a set of used Mach 6's I sent up to him to try out. Just past the 60 foot mark its clean! The cleanest you will see at 600 plus HP.
The Mach 5 and 6 injector was developed using the original 40/3B set up of twins. The first set ever built by Nathan Wright and Jason on Nathans truck. We thrashed injectors on that rig for months. The success of their sales has been partially from the HP they have generated using the 6's on the track and on the dyno.

YOu could even go a Mach 4.5 or so and get your 600 with tuning.
There are two trucks running Mach 4's
One made 622 HP on a DynoJet using a B1/B2 combo and Mach 4.8's
One made 590 HP using the 40/3B and standard Mach 4's.
The one that made the 622 runs the 1/4 in the low 12 second range. The other guy just daily drives his everywhere and even tows a 5th wheel with it. NO EGT issues at all.

I was pulled from one end of the place to the other.
