dyno question
dyno question
soo i just bought my first diesel truck last week and love it. what it has for upgrades are in my sig. my question is what should i expect on a dyno for HP/TQ output? also when driveing this truck back from Colorado to California i hit a coyote and bust a little chunk off the rear duelly fender, so insurance is going to give me about 2500 to 3000 to fix it and i am going to spend this on more stuff for the truck as the damage is fixable myself. so what kinda upgrades do some of you recomend? i was told to get a smarty and a fluidamper ... what do you think?
put it in the bank for when the VP dies or the HX40 blows up.
hows your steering? maybe a DSS? or a crossover setup?
fluidampr sounds like a good upgrade from what ive read so far. apparently bully dog also has a similiar one out, but havent heard anything on how they perform, but they are cheaper than fluidamprs.
what do you want out of the truck? that should determine your next step....and that step doesnt necessarily need to be performance/power oriented.
$0.02

the VP-44 is brandnew has 1500 miles on it. i dont know much about models of turbos .. is this a problem one? as the rest of the truck i have a luks link on the track bar and steering brace on the steering box. i am thinking about rims but duelly rims can be expensive and i would rather get more power or engine upgrades.
Well, if you want some serious power, you better step up to some bigger injectors and a bigger turbo. Injector favorites on this site: DDP or Mach
Then get yourself an HTT turbo, 62/12 if you want fast spool up, 62/71/14 if you want to sacrifice a little driveability for peak HP.
If you want to upgrade on the cheap, add some Jammer stage 5 nozzles to some old stock injectors, I wouldn't put new nozzles on those injectors as they are probably a good matched set if they run well now.
