dyno operater?

why is it that some places will not let you drive your own truck on the dyno. Instead they have some one that works there drive your truck. I don't think I would be that comfertable with some one else pushing my truck to the max. I know my truck and I know when to back out if something is not right.

My dyno guy asked you to sign a release/waiver. That keeps him from buying engines that were not ready to dyno or too much nitrous.

If they drive it on, they are responsible and you don't drive off or side swipe a post or something.

Just my thoughts.

Liability reasons. If you accidentally punch the brakes or something while the dyno is winding down I think it's hard on it. I've only had my truck dynoed once but they asked when to let off (RPM, EGT, etc.). If you're that nervous I think they would let you sit in the passenger seat so you could monitor gauges and tell them to stop if you thought anything was wrong.

I still would rather sign a waiver and drive my truck. Even if I was in the passenger seat and they paid for the damages, listening and watching the gauges, it wouldn't be the same. I have never rode over there and I couldn't feel the vibration in the peddles, stick, and all of the other little things you get from the driver seat.

and they will not know the little things to do to get your setup to run the best. You could explain it to them but it wouldn't be the same as you doing it your self

Some places will, some won't. The last dyno I was at the operator dynoed the first couple trucks, then everyone after that was done by the owner, and the operator was in the passenger seat. They told us when to hit it, when to cut out, and don't hit the brakes. Other than it was pretty straight forward.

But they dyno alot more and can probably pick up on if something is not right. I know it's a bummer for someone else to drive the truck, but ultimately we do have the choice.
