I just installed the AFe intake on my 2002 CTD. The turbo whine is much louder now and there is a "whoosh" sound when taking the foot off of the gas pedal (I like it). I would assume that this is normal but just wanted to get a sanity check??

Yes, that is totally normal. Enjoy your easier breathing rig! ;D

 

if you want to hear that turbo is full song then take the silencer ring out as well. It goes back in very easily so if you don't like it, you aren't stuck with it.
