DSS Steering Stabilizer
Has anyone installed this on a 2000 2500 4x4 and did it make a difference with the steering wander? Did you purchase it directly from Solid Steel Industry. Thanks stock659

I installed one about 8 months ago and notice a marked improvement. After seeing the design and installing it, I can see why there is "frame flex" where the steering box is mounted. It was fairly easy to install and you may need to adjust your drag link as mine made the steering wheel off center.

Probably hands down the best thing I have done to my truck. It has been on almost 3 years now. As soon as I put it on there was a big difference it use to drift straight left off the road after I could let go and it would track right down the road.

I just did it last weekend, got one from PSC motorsports, holes where off by 1/2 hole size, had to drill them out (where the bearing bolts up). Oh, I have 99 4x4 2500. the instructions say torque the shaft nut (from the pitman arm) to 185 ft-lbs or was it in-lbs, what ever, they don't tell you how to torque it. unless your a Snap-on dealer, your not going to find a 6-7 inch deep 1 5/16' socket, or a crow's foot to fit. I finally just broke down and bought a 1 5/16 wrench from sears and really cranked on it. After getting it installed...I was...to say the least...DISSAPOINTED, yes it helped, But not a $150 bucks worth! It's a good investment, but like I said, your gonna have a hard time finding a socket deep enough to put a torque on it. I spent a about 4 hours doing it. But I'm working out of state and did it in the Hotel parking lot. A couple of jack stands would have made everthing easier, but I toughed it out. I also replaced the sway bar link bushing's...now that was a $11 well spent. My .02, the sway bar bushings did more for the ride and handling then the DSS.
