Dont get a Fram BHAF!

I ordered my BHAF from a fleet service center in my area, only $25! too good to be true i guess, I picked it up yesterday, and it is SMALL! like the BHAF in this pic"

http://www.mark74.com/Photos/IMG_5379-copy.jpg

the filter looks about a foot and a half in diameter, and the one I got is only about a foot, so it is about 3" smaller all the way around. The pics I see of others they fill up the entire corner under the hood, and I can move this one all over. It is the correct part number, CA6818. What gives!

Im sorry, the one in the pic is the one I NEED, The one I ordered is much smaller diameter than that one, about 3 " on each side. Sorry for the confusion. Where the heck can I get a fleetguard or donaldson!? Ive checked everywhere around here and nobody has one! Napa wants over $50 for theirs, and Ive heard that they flow a bit less than the other brand BHAF, I really want to get rid of my K&N, cause you cant keep oil in it.

See if the NAPA guy at the counter can put you on someones account and give you a break on the price. that's what they did for me but it was still $45.

I work at a Dodge dealer in service, and when I go the napaprolink to check prices on a 2790, it comes up with "air filter industrial (GOLD)" and the list is $122, and my cosy is $54 !?!?!?!?

$122 for a BHAF for regular customer? id rather use a paper towel over the hose! The only one they list is the GOLD, even $54 my cost is expensive!

I get mine from Napa for an even $50 bucks. They last quite a while. Not too bad IMO.

I got mine from them , through work , and it was only 31$ CAN.

On edit - , the part number is LAF 2531, although the sticker on the side says "duralite"

I think all the BHAF filters are made by Duralite. Even mine from NAPA was a duralite.

I paid $54 for mine from O'Reilly auto and have had it on for 20,000 miles and still clean as a whistle! $54 for the jaw dropping reaction when you pop the hood and 40-50,000 miles of use.....priceless. Not that bad of a deal in my opinion.

I'd buy an AFE, UNI, or other re-usable filter... flow more air, make more noise

I just put my BHAF in the other day. Fleetguard AH19037.......took some tracking down to get one in Calgary though. Western Canada Cummins had to bring them in from out of town for me.........

$50 canadian each, but I get 10% off list prince through my co.

And yes its HUGE, and yes the turbo SINGS. I love it.

I use oiled foam element filters on my bikes and they collect crud real fast. Wonder how often you have to service the filter to keep the engine dust-free? Id also like to see some silica oil analysis before and after a move to oiled foam, just to see how effective they are versus the standard paper/ gauze elements.

AFE is a very high quality filter. I use an outerwear on mine.

I just love how much louder they are than a BHAF
