Dirt inside my BHAF

I have dust on the intake tube. Pretty scary anyways. It's not a K&N but I used the K&N kit to oil it up. I'm gonna clean it and see if it returns. Do you think I need a new cone for this thing?

Is it a oiled cotton filter?Or a regular BHAF?Because I don't think they need any oil.

The filter *WE* refer to as a BHAF is a paper disposable filter.

You should not be oiling a paper filter.

If you have an oily filter, you do NOT have a BHAF! You have an AFE, K&N, AIRAID, Volant, etc etc.

So sorry. It is an AFE cone type. Are they junk or if I get a new one will i be good for a while? All I know is that it should filter out the dust and there is dust in my intake. How do I clean that thing?

Just follow the instructions that came with the filter as far as cleaning and oiling.

If you want better filtration, consider the AFE Pro-gard7 if you want an oily filter.

The best oiled intake on the market is the Scotty Air system, imo. Flows well, flows COOOOL air, and filters good enough to keep dust out. www.scottyairsystems.com

They are available in the DTR online store.

The Paper BHAF (do a search on "BHAF") is a from another application. It's NAPA part number 2790. It's dry paper, and last a long time while filtering VERY well. It just won't move as much air as a Scotty or AFE setup.

I want to put a replaceable paper filter into my AFE box cause my oiled one doesn't filter dust anymore. Is there any paper ones that bolt into that box. Part number?
