A different comp question

I'm looking at getting a Edge comp and mounting it below/on my Prodigy brake controller like many on here have. My question is in the instructions on the Prodigy controller it clearly states to not use any 12V power near the unit or trailer brakes might malfunction. Now my controller is mounted just below the ash tray next to 2 12V outlets, one always has the cell charger in and the other normally has a 300w inverter plugged in. I've seen no problems with my trailer brakes but just curious if anyone else had seen that in the instructions.

TIA
Bill.

Ummm, I've never heard of this causing a problem. Mount the comp where you want and just be sure to use a different power source for it and you should be fine.

I wondered the same thing when I put my comp in a while back. But I went ahead and put it under my brake controller and have not had any problems with it. It's a pretty handy spot too.
