Difference between 2nd and 3rd Gen Intercooler?

i know a 3rd gen wont fit a second gen without making new pipes and custom fab work to mount it
the second gens are a wider but not as tall, with the inlets coming in at the bottom. excuse the soda bottle, its there for size reference when i was showing off the size of it for some ricer guys
the third gen is narrower, and taller, with the inlet toward the top.
and i dont think there is much difference between them when it comes to efficiency.
