Diff. Gear ratio

Hey all. In the struggle to increase MPG, i am looking for a 3.00to1, or there about, rear gear set. This would drop my rpms about 400 at 70mph. I currently have 3.55s in there now, that runs the rpm about 2200 with my tires. With the discussion earlier on better mpg, this might be a better(cheaper) way to go than a GV unit. Is there a 3.00 gear available? Mark

Don't know if this will be the ratio you were looking for, but it's a faster gear than what you've got.

I think that going with a taller tire is cheaper and easier. Just get a 33" tires next time you buy them and you will be at 1750-1900 rpm at 75 mph. 285-75-16 is a popular size. I think my 305-70 are a bit too wide for best fuel mileage but I have no complains with them either. When towing, they do not help however.
