Diesel Additive
Re:Diesel Additive
Well the closest flying j is about a 3 hour drive either through the mountains or all the way around it. and i called howes and the closest distributor they could name was about 100 miles up north in los angeles somewhere. where can i find this elusive howes stuff, or maybe i'll try stanadyne and powerservice instead.
Re:Diesel Additive
I'd give the Stanadyne a shot, if it's closer.

Re:Diesel Additive
I have been using Stanadyne Performance Formula for about the last 11,000 miles. The lubricity it adds to the fuel is most important to me. It seems to work great, smooth operation, good fuel mileage, and no more eye burning exhaust when idling. Maybe this site could help.<br>http://www.dieselpage.com/add1.htm<br><br>Meacham Evins<br>

You should be able to find at least one or two of the good additives at any truck stop.
There has to be a truck stop closer than 3 hours.
Just about every major highway offramp has at least one truck stop (especially that close to the Mexican border, trucks need to fill up with nice clean Diesel before crossing over
).

Stakeman...Sorry been out of the loop for a while,so the stuff I was referring to :<br><br>Howes Lubricant<br>Diesel Treat<br>summer/winter formula, diesel conditioner<br>ANTI-GEL<br>(the label states the following)<br><br>Removes water, boosts power & performance, stops Smoking, increases MPG's, cleans & lubricates Injectors, Extends fuel filter life, contains no soy oil additives.<br>" No gelling guaranteed or we pay the tow"<br><br>As far as my experience, the claims made by Howes above are true as far as cleans & lubricates injectors... As far as smoke, with my fueling, my truck did not stop smoking..
..I still can turn day into nite, but maybe not as long?? :
I'm hooked on this stuff and plan on using as long as the results continue, or unless someone can convience me there is something better. Looking at the bottle, it is a half gallon, not a gallon like I said before. The color looks just like (ssip), spelled backwards. ;D<br><br>Steve
