I am looking for some advice on the power puck has anyone had good luck or bad? Wheres a good place to pick one up I have seen them for 200 or so but I have heard of guys getting them for 160. Is it worth the money or is there a better choice I am looken for a little added power but better fuel economy.

 

I've had one installed for about 3 weeks. I decided on the 50 hp puck. I was able to find it for $165. I installed it but the MAP sensor/connector was a BEAR for big hands. I had to have my neighbor/friend Mr. SmallHand come by and do that part of the deed but other than that, no complaints. Installation took about 10 minutes honestly and keep in mind we're not ACE WRENCHES here either!! I think for the money you'd be hard pressed to find as many hp and as much torque as one of these POWER PUCKS have but there's plenty of places to spend more for more. I'm very happy with what I got for how much I spent, if that makes sense. This thing woke up my truck, that's for sure. I can only imagine what one of the big ones must be like.... Where I really notice the difference is when going up hills. No more downshifting cuz you didn't get a run at it. Not with this thing installed. Pedal down, power up, truck up & over what hill??? My mileage has improved but only by about 1 mpg. Still, everything helps and this POWER PUCK is CHEAP POWER, just like they advertise. No complaints here.....only a little snicker when I eat a Powerstroke.

 

I installed one on my truck. It is a big help towing but if you lay into it alot it wont help your mileage. Makes the truck alot better to drive. Got mine from summit $200. Mine only hooked up to the IP harness no plug for the map sensor. mine is a 98.5

I forgot to mention a nice little ending to my story concerning one of these Power Pucks.....

Seems like I opened the box when it arrived via UPS and THERE WERE 2 UNITS IN THERE!!!!!!
They had identical part numbers specifically for an 02 but they were different. Same box. One was slightly larger than the other and it has TUNABLE on it. Other than that they are alike. Anyone know what TUNABLE means? That's the one I did NOT install...it's still fresh as a daisy in the box as the other one was a known item....it has 50 hp & 150 foot lbs of torque and that's what I wanted.
TUNABLE??

 

Chuck call diablo and ask. Please please please! I was able to find an article that showed how the puck can be hooked up to a laptop and custom fuel/ timing curves set up. I would absolutely love to be able to set up a custom map for *my* truck.

If this were the case I would consider running a triple stack
