Crack Baby,

Get yer friend a boost fooler to go with the DD2's. A cheapo will work fine if he is on a budget. The DD2's and an HO will make about 95 HP alone

It fools the computer into thinking there is less boost so it doesn't defuel.
If the computer sees more boost than whatever it is set for, it will turn down the fuel thinking there is a problem.

Bingo. The boost fooler tricks the computer into thinking that it's only seeing 20 psi of boost when in reality, it's seeing more than that. That's all a boost fooler does.

Thanks Don...i agree...BUT..with the stock elbow,no boost fooler and ONLY injectors he'll feel the seat of the pants til 20 psi, then drop off with NO CODES because it won't boost PAST that to set the light? am i correct in my assumption?

You are partly correct. Without a boost fooler, he'll pull very hard all the way up to 20 psi. After that, it's all down hill. It will however set an overboost code, turn on the check engine light, and go into reduced power mode.

Thankfully, no. I did unplug my map sensor completely one day and drove about 100 yds before I plugged it back in. I also tried to start the truck with the fuel pump relay unplugged. Don't ask about either of them. I've set so many codes in my truck from doing stupid stuff like that it's not even funny.

Oh ya. I also unplugged my comp, but left the connectors in the engine connected. Drove about 20 miles that way so I could take dad to pick up his vette (back when he first bought it). Talk about scary. Driving with your foot on the floor in the middle of Beltway 8 traffic and only going maybe 60 mph. Traffic was flowing that day.

How will he set an overboost code if he cant pass 20psi? Remember, he said he would be running the stock elbow.

Lol. With the extra fuel alone, he'll probably push over 20 psi even with the stock elbow. Heck, when I was stock (just BHAF and 4" straight pipe), I saw 23 psi of boost on several occasions. That's with stock injectors, no comp, and no turnbuckle. So yes. I have experienced this.

Yes he will.

When my PE4200 died, I could still start the truck, talk about a... feeling.

SO i have a Pulse box out of an 01' with that boost fooler/connector that hooks the 2001 to the 2002 MAP sensor..will that little thing work on his as a boost fooler? and what if i hook the stock map and data plug back up stock on mine and leave the Blue Chip cover attached to the pump? will that hurt it?>
