I'm looking to install a fuel pressure gauge, but short on funds right now, which kind of precludes doing the full 3-gauge install for now.

I was looking on Genos Garage, and noticed that he has an indash gauge mount for the 2nd Gen.

Has anyone installed a gauge using his kit? It looks like cheap and easy way to install a fuel gauge. Once funds allow, I'm going to install a pyro/boost/trans gauge pack in the a-pillar.

 

I have mounted my fuel pressure gauge there with teh same kit from Geno's. It worked great and looks good.

 

Just get a triple pillar pod and leave the other 2 empty till ya got more coin.

The empty holes can be pluged with a skoal plastic tin. Cut the bottom out of the plastic can ,cut 4 smal slits in the edge and clip it into the hole till you get more gauges. The plastic skoal can blanks compliment the interior De'cor nicely.

 

or just get a Scotty pod and mount the guages on top of the dash:

LOL @ Zeddy...that's exactly where my cell phone ends up too.

I have been tossing the idea of installing heated seats and thinking that would be a great place for the switches...but then I lose the phone holder.

 

I tried to keep my cell phone there, but it kept landing in the floor when I shifted....so i put the westach dual gage in there.

 

I use the ashtry as my cell phone holding area, since I don't smoke and no one is allowed, it makes for great stash area. I put my wallet in there when I go to the gym and close the ashtray. Nothing for the criminals to see.

 

I use a Scotty Dodge Pod to mount my 4th gauge, switches and airbag controls on the dash......a very clean way to mount this stuff.

How do you like your Scotty's Dodge Pod? Is it secured by velcro or bolts? What kind of material is it make out of? Plastic, vinyl, fiberglass or ? What color is the pod? Why did you choose this over the other more commonly used pods?

Sorry for the many questions but there is little info. on this pod on this site.

 

Had one once. They are plastic and permanently mounted. They come in paintable black. I like them. Two big advantages for an automatic.
-Holds all 4 gauges needed
-No blind spot...like you get with an A pillar mount.

If I was ever starting over again...it's the way I would go.

Do you still have the Scotty Pod? It sounds like you got rid of it. Did you try something new and found out that the Scotty Pod was better?
