All Dodge D80's were equipped with 35 spline shafts. By far, the best limited slip diff for the D80 was the factory Dana Powr-Lok. This was one of two LS diffs that were factory installed by DC, the other being the inferior Trak-Lok. If you are looking for the most durable and best performing LS for your D80, get yourself a Plok.

If you have the original factory equipped LS in your 96 and it continues to work well, I can almost guarantee you that it is a Plok and not Tlok. Tlok's have a poor reputation for durability and longevity. Powertrax diffs are auto lockers not limited slips.

My 02 has a trash-lok. Talk about a factory worthless POC. I thought it was a p-lok, but it's not.

YOu can tell because a trash-lok has has the cross shaft nested in a perfectly matched groove. The P-lok has the cross shaft in a "V" shaped groove that causes a ramping action against the clutches.

Over the past few months my LSD started to chatter even after adding proper plus amounts of posi slip fluid, then there was an accident the LSD fell out and a Greenberg Machine Detroit Locker fell in. We now have 2 modes locked or open on a corner coasting, we now have Posi-Traction, problem solved. Saved $600 on rebuild kit for junk LSD, For Sale 1-used LSD. PK
