Cruise Control Surge

Anyone get the cruise surging with the comp on? Mine does that just rev off then rev then off then rev etc forever there is no happy medium. If I turn the comp off it functions properly. Is there any way to recalibrate the cruise computer with the comp?

Re:Cruise Control Surge

Jamie,

I have noticed that mine will surge in cruise when running the Comp. It seems to be a little less noticable at the lower levels. If I want to run smooth with the cruise on, I will just turn my box off.

Re:Cruise Control Surge

I dont have a comp because as you may notice I am not exessively valved , however three days ago I started to notice my cruise surging, bad enough to where I would just shut it off. Then today I go to turn my cruise on and it decides to accelerate hard until I shut it off. It did this twice and the third time I went to turn it on it cruised for about 50 feet and just acted like I turned it off. Every since I have had no cruise >. Does this sound like a vaccume problem ???
Sorry Jamie, I may not have answered your question at all but maybe someone else could help us both out :

Re:Cruise Control Surge

They all could be vacuum problems. Dsljunkie check your vacuum lines and trottle linkage near the cruise connection on back.

Re:Cruise Control Surge

If I turn the box off the cruise is fine. Its also funny when you set it my truck pretty much floors it for about 2 seconds then backs right off. Plus it blows a nice puff of smoke. I just didn't know if there was a way to recalibrate the cruise for the extra fueling.
