Thumbs up Bought a 98 12V - 4GSK done, idle problems!

Hey guys! I used to have a 2006 Ram, sold it. Just bought a 98 12V, a week ago. Check out my sig for the mods. Here is the scenario:
When I got the truck, was idling around 1,100 rpms in park, and would drop to around 800 rpms in drive, and would usually die. Previous owner installed the 4K GSK, had idling problems after this, he never adjusted the springs.
I went ahead and adjusted them to .045" and this jumped the idle up to 1,200 rpms. When you put in drive, rpm drops to 800 rpms, but still idles. I turned the low-idle screw all the way down, idle will still only go down to around 1,100 rpms, and at this point the truck dies soon as you put in into drive.
I went loosened the springs to where the center stud was flush with the spring retainer. Now, the truck idles at 1,000 rpms in park and drops to 800 rpm in gear and does not die.
Question - Should I go ahead and loosen the adjuster(loosen springs) some more to see if this continues to help? I heard one person measured .012" between the stud and the bottom of the retainer recess.
any suggestions is appreciated. Also, note that the truck runs very strong, engine is smooth has can be, no hesitation, stuttering, ect - just the idle.
Thanks again!

Stud protrusion will vary by trucks. There is about .030" between both of my trucks where they seem to run happy.

If you keep backing the springs off, you will be lowering your governed RPM. So it will be a balancing act. Just keep playing with it until you are happy.

Yep, you are right about that. Each truck is definitely different. I loosened up the springs up 1/2 turn at a time till I finally got it dialed in right. Once dialed in, it will easily idle at 800 rpms in drive, and around 875 in park.
definitely touchy. The last attempt, I actually tightened the springs back up 1/2 turn, and that is when I hit the sweet spot. Prior to this, had to keep the idle around 1,200 in park so it would not die in drive. Glad it is done. I will probably go back and actually measure it with a caliber, and write down the readings for future reference.

Make sure the rod from the pump to the pedal lever is going all the way back. Ive seen them need adjusting after some people mess with stuff.
