i cant get the retainer nut to go down as far as the stock one. if i use the stock lower spring seat i can get it down but i cant get it to go dowm with the new spring seat. can i use the stock seat

 

I would use what came in the kit. Measure up the thickness of the stock seat against the new seat. I thought they where the same, just one is a two piece and the other is not.

Don't take this as an insult, but are you putting the 2 piece seat together correctly?

How are you trying to turn the retainer nut? Meaning what kind of a tool are you using? Might want to grind down a junk socket and leave two tabs to fit the retainer nut, that way you can put some pressure on it.

Hope you get it, as a last ditch effort, you could always do the 3k portion of it till you get a hold of piers (or whoever you bought it from). I believe the 3k kit is everything but the largest spring. Kevin

 

are you sur you got all the oem parts out......I had a small spring still hiding in there.....made it impossible , took it back apart, found another spring..... I only figured it out after I did the other side though.

I also cut a big flat head screw driver up, notch.....to really be able to get on there.

 

i figured it out didn't get your guys responses til after i was done. no one told me that the oem seat is 2 peices i had the bigger seat still in there, the kit i got from haisley had a single peice seat. this is probably the best mod i've done its just so smooth and my rpm fly up to 4k. clutch or pistons don't like it though clutch slips at a little over 1/4 throttle and egts move as fast as my rpm
