Yeah there is a Dual Disk comming out from ValAir, should be pretty sweet! I hope I am one of the first to get one The kid just didn't know how to drive, once mine was broke in it was shifting just as smooth as the stocker... I can even drive without using the clutch to shift and it is silky smooth. Taking off is the only time when it can be a bit grabby but the amount of grabbieness it does have is WELL worth the holding power it has! I am a very satisfied customer of ValAir, like I said when the new ones are out I want to be the first to have one

My clutch from valair was the cheapest one, it's not the greatest for towing, but it's fine for my needs right now. Eventually i'd like to get a nice one from them.......

Is $1000 to much for the FE? OR what? I wonder how the dual-disk from valair would do as a daily driver though? Actually as soon as i can get the money im going to get whochever clutch i decide because today one of my buddys got a 97 12v and he wanted to race me with his box off to see what his would do right now agains mine and as soon as i hit 6th it started slipping!! it has never done this before with the box off? I guess i better start saving pretty quick.

Will the con-fe really hold 550hp without slipping or is that where it starts to slip?

I know a guy that ran like 580 i think and he could flat out lug it and it never slipped one time. So idont know maybe he was lucky? I wish some poeple with the FE could chime in on where there at on the clutch and how it holds.

Yea me too I'm torn between the Valair ceramic that holds 600 and the sb con-fe that holds 550. I don't think I'm going to add any more power beacuse I'm tired of stuff breaking just going to put on a set of 5" turnouts.

The only reason i want to spend the extra on the SB is because i have heard the drivability is pretty good for a daily driver. Yet it would be nice to hav the 50 extra hp there but i heard and rode in one that the drivabilty wasnt all that great. SO i really am kind of stuck?

i have ceramic/ceramic for valair love it do some towing and playing
holds up very nice and the price was great plus the customer support was great

Here's how I see it:

You can't go wrong with South Bend or Haisley. I know folks running each in high horsepower settings with good results.

My SB con OFE held well until I got to 525hp. I think it is rated at 450. I'd say your fudge factor is about 50hp on SB, but that is just a guess.

A FE would be ok for street and strip, but I doubt you'll like it much pulling since it is very grabby. You'd be better off with a 3250-3600 DD.

Keep in mind that your clutch install will run you (give or take) $4-500 bucks unless you have a very good setting to change it yourself. The NV5600 is 400lbs and a beast on the tranny jack. It is hard to imagine changing it without a lift and several guys to help balance it pulling it out. With either doing it yourself or paying someone to do it, make doggone sure you've got the right clutch that will hold your hp goals (don't underestimate your goals) so you only have to do it one. You know with the ones I mentioned you'll have an excellent clutch that will do what they say they'll do.

Some things in life aren't worth chancing cutting corners. In my opinion, a clutch is one of them.

Also, call to get your pricing. You should be able to save off of webpage prices. $1000 for a FE installed sounds like a pretty good price though.

The $1000 for the sb con-fe is the clutch price not including instalation.
