Clutch Bellhousing Clearance Issues
I just got done rebuilding the motor in my 98 and purchased a new DD clutch from kennys for my truck. After installing on the motor and shoehorning the motor back in, i was unable to turn the engine over. The head was off so i know its not somthing like a valve hitting and the motor spun freely before insalling. I loosened the bellhousing bolts and was able to spin the motor over again but could hear the clutch housing/pressure plate rubbing. I figured it was something i had done wrong so i pulled the motor back out to check. The clutch was rubbing so hard on the bellhousing it left scratches. Has anyone else ever had issues like this that could lend some insight? I was told the clutch has a 3800lb spring pressure. It uses a bunch of small fingers instead of the 4 big fingers the picture shows on his site and also looks bigger around the outside edges. Is there a different bellhousing i need or is it safe to grind on the clutch or bellhousing to gain clearence? Any help will be greatly appreciated
