Chip info for 2001

I just got a 2001 QC SB AT 4X4 87k and put on a programer that I got from a buddy that came off another 2001. I don't know much about the programer -the markings on it are BD Performace Technology - Van Aaken Development Serial 17548. I paid $100 for it used and I'm wondering if I can get a monitor to hook up to it ? He said it was 60hp.

What else can be done to the truck or should I do? I've been reading about fuel pressure, pumps, plates and exhuast. It appears that my auto trans is the weak link and I'm not interested in melting it down.

What is the best lift to level the truck out ? 3" ? It also has the snow plow pkg.

Thanks in advance for all the replies!

Quadzilla make an all in one monitor you can get, or you can get seperate gauges.

You should figure out what your fuel pressure is, and decide how much power you want from your truck. But if you decide you want much more you will be looking at tranny work.

"Plates" are a 12v thing, perform similar function to what your programmer does, the 12v is all mechanical

Most levelling kits are 2". I think. 3" would work well also. Do you tow?

Welcome aboard. I too have a Van Aaken. It works well and is not too extreme. I think your stock tranny will do ok with it. My stock clutch lasted until I put the injectors in. I would reccomend some sort of gauges to keep an eye on things. That being said I cannot get above 1150 egt while towing my 5er. It is only 25ft and does not weigh much. My most important gauge is the fuel pressure. With injectors and the box I can pull the pressure down to 5lbs. Big line kit is in my future.

We do a bunch of boating, but our current boat doesn't have a trailer. I do move some boats for the local Baja dealer. Can I get a monitor for the fuel pressure off the programer or it manual/seperate application?

Was the benny well spent on the Van Aaken?

I don't know anything about the quadzilla monitors. I have a mechanical fuel pressure gauge. The Van Aaken is good bang for the buck. That being said you should think about what future plans you have for the truck. I wish I would have spent the extra money and got the Edge Comp. It can be run at the same power level as a Van Aaken then later down the road pierce the pump wire and double the power of the box.

Here's a site that will have everything you need for guages:
http://www.dieselmanor.com/

You want pyro and fuel pressure and guys like to have boost and tranny temp too.

From what I hear that Van aaken box pulls pretty hard down low. You can add a fueling box later once you get guages. Also, fuel system upgrades are good to have even on a stock truck.
