I did the silencer ring in like 24 hrs after getting my truck. (1st diesel ever) I now have the Scotty II in the "loud" version. That is addictive. I love my radio, drove for a while the wife called I went to turn the radio off, which it was so I actually turned it on! Didn't even realize that, cause I was having fun listening to the turbo sing.

So its on the intake side or the compressor side, cause I 'm hearing two different things.... I have'nt had a chance to look since the truck is at a friend of mines shop getting a new vacum pump and injector pump...

Could have likely fixed that vacum pump for under $20....try a search.

pulled the silencer ring out of mine in about 3 minutes yesterday after reading this thread. I had no idea the thing even existed. Sure makes the turbo a lot louder!

Compressor side, You have to be able to see the turbo compressor in oder to get to the rings.

Intake side is the compressor side. The compressor does its thing with the intake air, and the turbine does its thing with the exhaust gases.

Not unless you could have gotten me a new one for $20 , but I did see the add for fixinrams.com

The teeth broke off the drive gear and broke a bunch of sh%*!

But thanks anyway...

No I wish it was, this is the second vacum pump that it chewed the drive gear up on. So it must be something up front, I haven't pulled it apart yet...

If anybody has heard of this, I'm going to post a new thread....
