BHAF is a air filter. Donaldson, Napa , fleetgaard ,etc all have different part # for it. They are in the Tech facts section under performance .

I dont know what DSS stands for ,

Donaldson Air Filter b105006 $50 +-

You will need this for your BAHF. http://www.outerwearsracing.com/

Heat Shield Link:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1

To make the heat shield go to the junk yard and find a piece of 10 ga or 1/8 " aluminum and make it your self for less than $3.00. All you need is a jig saw and a file. Don't cut your old filter mounting bolts off, use them to mount you heat shield. The filter lays in between them and they don't harm anything. That way if you need some warrenty work it takes about five minutes to put your old filter back on.

Take a look here. Check or money order only. http://www.solidsteel.ca/DSS.htm

I'm a bit confused about the state of affairs at Solid Steel.

Website I was told is www.solidsteel.biz.

Both still have the DSS for sale, one sells it, the other refers you to distributors in Canada or the lower 48.

I just got mine from Rip Rook (sourceautomotive.biz) and waiting for a dry driveway to install it.

Oh, DSS stands for Darins Steering Stabilizer.

I think Darin maybe left Solidsteel to be his own company?

Darin and his partner have parted ways as I understand it and Darin has taken over the business. I believe Marvin wanted to move on to other ventures.

The DSS is THE BEST UPGRADE I have done...BTW..

When you call outerwears just tell them you want a cover for a BHAF. They will take it from there. The cover will keep the grasshoppers ect. out and is washable. The filter will last a long, long time. Just take it off every now and then and lightly blow it off from the inside out with a air nozzle.

The outwears pre-filter is reusable. The BHAF is a paper filter and is not reuseable, but will last a long time. Ive got 20k on mine and still looks great.
