CB radio placement?

Did those of you who have one mount the CB in your truck? I have a manual and was thinking of bolting it directly behind the stick but wanted to hear other options for this if there are some.

Edited to add that I am stupid, please move this one to the Other forum for me.

I bought one of those plastic center consoles that you use to be able to store audio tapes in. I mounted my cb to it. You can not use the original cup holders but the center console has its own cup holders so we use them. I put a piece of rubber down to protect the carpet. I have the automatic with the switch on the dash to go into 4 wheel drive. Not sure if if will fit any other way. This way I can install and remove it when I go on trips. I don't care to have it when I driving around home.

Brolin CB Mount

Here's what I used to have...BGBW WUNDER MOUNT

I liked it, but it won't fit with my sub box. I had a Cobra 29 mounted on it for size comparisons

If it looks like something you'd like, PM for a chance to try before you buy

I was looking at that hole thinking if I found a smaller CB it would fit right there, I guess I was right!

I took the trim out. I used nuts and bolts. I used a couple of 3'in bolts, 6 nuts, a couple flat washers, lock washers and 4 body washers.

That's why I have one! My truck is cluttered enough as it is, I don't need more help

I made my own bracket to hold a scanner or CB against the front of the middle seat.

DieselDude,That is a nice clean setup you have there very slick.I was just about to make a topic on this cause I was looking at ways to mount one.I am prolly gonna go with the bracket the flips under the seat and out of the way, looks very clean. And plus since I am low on space with the 6 speed, but it might work out a little better once i put the short shifter kit on.

I have a manual too and fabbed up a bracket that mounts the CB between the shifter and the seat.
