catcher ecm and comp

if i put in a normal catcher ecm that has timing added can i use it with my comp or do i run the risk of engine damage due to the added timing

edit: does the catcher ECM remove the 2700rpm defuel like the smarty does?

I believe it would be to much timin advance.

But it does remove the 2700rpm defueling.

Yep, Marco, "used" to make a special catcher with no timing so those with a comp could run the catcher. That is why he has both timing and no timing settings on the smarty. I've heard of those who tried timing on the Smarty with the comp and didn't notice any difference. I decided to try and didn't really notice any difference either. I did not leave it that way for long though, I was afraid it would cause an issue.

luckily i will have a smarty for my use on the dyno. 2 runs with the comp and the 3rd run with the smarty on level 8 (no timing) since i am currently saving the cash i need for a smarty. cant wait

The Smarty is not going to do much on the dyno. It will give a steeper curve for HP & tq when they first come in cause ...... that's what Smarty does!
I would not expect max HP/Tq #'s to be very different from your Comp.

thats exactly what i want it for...and i am almost positive it will help with the tq number by getting more boost at a lower rpm

I think it will do exactly what you want on the dyno, and be a lot of fun driving it...

I think RJ is right. I don't think it'll help much on the dyno. Dyno is for max power, and at some point your turbo is going to light regardless of being laggy and reach max power and tq for the dyno to read. The good thing is the Smarty is a quick load and unload. Try it both ways and see what the results are with and without. Keep us posted as to the results.

So are you thinking you wil keep the 55, and just get enough fuel to spool it?
