Carfax Please
the truck i have was in a decent size accident before i bought it.......not knowing....but relized when i noticed that all the mount brakets and such in the rear where all cut up and welded with even one braket being new as in they had to make another and tak it ot the frame.........i was trying to straighten the rear bumber at the time that i didnt relize before.....learned the hard way to check ALL frame rails for signs of accidents....guess thats why i only paid 10k for the truck......
When we were looking for the 01 that I have now, we looked at a 2wd. Really liked it then my husband noticed that on the passenger side there was some overspray on the rear leaf springs, upon closer investigation he saw that the inner fenderwell had been repainted (badly), along with a couple other places where you could see body damage repair. The dealer did a carfax but nothing came up. Did not feel very safe not knowing what happened.
Yeah those things are nothing more that a waste of money and time. Like stated before, they don't show anything unless it has had a report filed through an insurance company or a police report. I looked at Chevy one time that had obviously been wrecked ( paint was no where close to matching ) and the Carfax report was clean as a whistle!!! It's a stupid gimmic to give poor people a false sense of security when buying a piece of junk. Dealers should all be BURNED!!
