can I handle stage 3 injectors?
can I handle stage 3 injectors?
I was at the track last friday and I ran a dismal 16.71 in the 1/4. With my current mods I was wondering if I could put in some stage 3/100hp injectors without seriously damaging anything. I have a turbo-master that I have yet to install but am hoping that will help with the extra fueling. I dont mind smoke at all (thats why I got the stacks) The only areas that concern me are the fuel pump and the TC. I also just recieved my banjo bolts and fuel line fitting for my guage so I can get a baseline before fooling around with the fuel system. My trans slips a little bit now but Im hoping I can stretch it further before breaking down and getting a Performace version. I think thats everything? Thanks guys.

Just my 02 but I think that I would put my next $$$ into the tranny It's not going to hold up from everthing I read and hear besides if the tranny is sliping then you are losing power and it is not hooking up. You can't hope to better your times without fixing your weak link and thats you tranny. I preach it constantly when I was building HD's " first put the power you have to the pavement and then you can try to make more"
Re:can I handle stage 3 injectors?
i had 275's and the drag comp. wire not peirced and thats all my stock tranny wanted!! i would take that advice as said above and safe for the tranny or just do the tranny!!! if u cant put the power to the ground its not very fun!!
Re:can I handle stage 3 injectors?
I hope that you can handle them- they come in sixpacks to a total weight of 1.5 pounds ;D
I think your tranny won't be able to handle them. Actually with the stock fluid coupling you will rev to the redline without getting the power to the ground. So it's basically useless to add power now. When I went DTT I felt like- wow where did these extra hundred horses hide?
Just my 2c

I've got the update kit. TC, VB, all frictions, billet front piston, updated OD, 4.4 front servo lever, new seals all around.
Personally I wouldn't go for just TC and VB since you can't increase pressure too much with the stock seals in the tranny. Front piston seal likes to blow out and lets you lose pressure.

I agree with everyone else so far. Your tranny isn't going to hold a box and 100hp injectors. If you know your in search of more power, the tranny should probably be the next place you spend your money.
Actually, i would rather have my DTT and a stock motor, than lots of power and a trans that couldn't handle it. Now my DTT with a little extra power... ;D
Good luck,
Chris
