cams, 1st gen vs 2nd gen 12v's

is there a difference between the 1st gen cam (89) and a 2nd gen 12v cam?

swapping blocks and wondering...

Well as the years progressed, obviously minor things changed, but I dont know if there r any different lift numbers, or diameters. Both obviously stll have the mech. lift pump lobe.
