Cam Question

Is it worth it to have a cam installed at my current power level?

Aside from the cost what are the pros and cons?

Thanks

There are several out there.
Depends on what you want out of the truck.

Check www.scheiddiesel.com (click on pickup truck pulling) and www.piersdiesel.com
Both of those shops are top notch.

Cams usually wont add much power. You can certainly extend the power band, move it around some, or fatten the curve up.

Adding a cam is a nice addiiton for smoke control and a fatter powe curve at lower rpm. Almost like having a faster spooling turbo.

Rip will have a line on my cams in the next few months. Less costly than some of the options out there and the cam is not a regrind of a used stock cam. Its a brand new casting that I have ground to specs.

Hey Don,

What are the benefits of your cams, do you have any real world mileage reports and general feedback from testers that you can talk about?

I will have everything in the next 2 months. Specs and all. So far there is limited test data, but a few guys are trying them now. Some are pretty hot!
