Cab light questions
I have a couple questions for you 2nd genners. Ive got 94-98 cab lights on my truck. I had aftermarket amber lights on it, and they faded. So I ordered the Recon 'smoked' lights. To my surprise, they were clear lenses with black bases, supposedly making them smoked. They are clear as day to me. So are there any made that are actually smoked? Are the flatter 99-02 style from Recon actually smoked lenses?
Also, does anyone know if the screw pattern are the same between the two, or can someone measure the distance from center to center of their screws on the later style lights? Thanks.

Well if I can find some smoked ones these will go. Do you have cab lights already? And have you checked the clubs thread for stephenville? Were getting a dtr chapter started here.
to answer your question...i don't know...but i do know that the 3rd gen lights fit on my 98...just had to halfway match the curvature of the lights to my cab...
i don't know why lights for newer trucks wouldn't work, but then again I haven't looked that close at a 1st gen lately to notice how flat the top of the cab is...probably doesn't help much...but hey i thought i'd throw out my limited knowledge

No cab lights yet, I will join when it gets started. Me and a friend of mine were talking about starting a diesel club as a student organization. You may know him he drives a tan x-cab first gen.

you can smoke them yourself if you want, torch is the best way to do it. ive done it with stuff before, light it and turn the flame way down so it smokes alot and hold the lense over the smoke.
