Built Auto Big Single guys step in please

In the quest to figure out if this noise is the sound of my turbo going out or just an annoyance I wanna get some numbers from yall. My daily setting is smarty on 5, TST off, 155hp injectors. I've got a scotty 2 intake with the hole cut and 4" straight pipe to 5" stacks. Normal driving around town I push the pedal about 1/4 of the way down and can get between 8-10psi of boost and 900-1000* EGT's. Once it hits lockup the EGT's can climb to 1100. Also, when sitting in drive with my foot on the brake my EGT's will slowly climb up to about 450-500*. When I first start the truck in the morning and put it in neutral to let the tranny pump up with fluid I can see 300*. My probe is pre turbo. Do those numbers sound about right? I'm running a KSB-1 with I believe it's a 12cm housing on it. Thanks yall.

My truck does that now with the stocker haha. Im putting my sledpuller 66 on tuesday so ill know better then. In drive with brake on like at stop light my truck idles at 600. Same in the cold mournings 300 325. But once its warmed up it will idle at 275 in neutral or park.

Dunno. Rjohnson had it before me and I've had it for at least 20-30k so at least 50-60k.

I just came in from cleaning the snow off, i had the truck running for about a half hour, i never looked at the egt while it was running with the high idle, but when it was at normal idle the egts were just over 200, maybe 250. Running down the road at 70-75 on flat grade i run between 700 and 800. Driving around town, 45-55 with overdrive off and torque converted always locked up i am about 600. All driving is with the mad ecm and the edge comp on in ez mode. I leave the TST off unless someone is feeling brave
Those numbers seem a little bit higher then mine, i dont see 1100 at all during normal driving conditions. If i am in drive with my foot on the brake costing in traffic or down my driveway, i might see 400 or so.

55mph with od off and TC locked up I'm right at about 600-650. 70-75 on flat ground I'm at 850-950. Coasting through traffic I'm at about 400-450.

Check the shaft play. With those miles it could probably use a rebuild. If you catch it in time the rebuild will just be bearings and seals, if not then it gets $$

I put 34,000 miles on it...before Blue's 20-30,000.
I learned early on it did no good, so I never ran it over 42 psi..... other than the first 2 months without the Ext. Wastegate.

Never heard of them needing rebuild....but I guess there really aren't that many around with a whole lot of miles on them?

I'm looking into replacing the cartridge on it. I had my dad plug the hole in the wastegate weld with a towel while I revved the engine and the noise was still there.

So between the constant fuel leaks and whining turbo this truck is costing me a bloody fortune.

I wouldnt consider my turbo to be a "big single" but i do notice that my truck runs hotter when im just cruising along than it did with my stock turbo. Your temps sound normal to me. My turbo really doesnt move any air unless im turning 1700rpm or above, so in OD at about 60mph (rpms <1700) i can easily hit 1000* and sometimes 1100*.

I'm hearing the same noise you are blue , usually only around 8-15 psi, above or below that , it sounds like a normal HX35, it has been like this for almost a month now, and it is driving me nuts, but if it blows , i have a better reason to go get that SPS62/14 i have been wanting.
