5.0 Lever, who is saying to use that? NOT anybody I know. What's not the same about the OD case? Maybe the numbers on it?

ANYONE that tries to start these tranny wars again will be IMMEDIATELY banned from this website. Vendor bashing will not be tolerated here NOW or EVER.

I can see absolutely nothing to be gained from the type of verbal sparring that was going on in this thread. You can make your posts without bashing somebody or their products or you can go somewhere else.

The choice is yours.

Not sure with the diesels, but I know in the race 727 world the 5.0 has gone by way of the dinosaurs. Shift quickness was negligible, and it was basically applying too much leverage (breaks parts). On the od case I'm thinking it's the same also. I know the 95 1500 46RH a co worker built for me we used the planets and clutch set up out of a 47RH core he had. I could check part numbers on my 01 tommorow just to see for sure. I didn't realize cores were that hard to find.

rebuild it your self

do not wish to be banned from this site. i learn a lot here. do not believe in trany wars my self but would really like to know what is wrong with the 5.0 lever. i have used them since 1965 with absolutely no problems in 727s or ods. hope to get an answer or an opinion without causing a problem.

Most experienced tranny shops tell me the 5.0 lever creates overlap, which is a poor shift. There is a better way to get the correct strength and shift timing.

One reason is that with the "performance DIESEL****" transmissions the pressures are way up from what the gassers use in the same tranny- simply because there's so much more torque to be held. I think you could use a 5.0 lever with stock pressures(just my assumption) and would have to get shift timing right for this but with the pressures raised massively I think it's overpowering other parts then.

Just my 2c

PS- no need for tranny wars- let's do a 3 word story or an oil war instead
