Don't have to worry about that.... I know better than to reuse pre-rebuild fluid in a post-rebuild tranny. Besides, I'm going to use Dexron III (or whatever the number is now ) instead of the ATF+3 thats in it now.

Billets for an e-brake? I didn't know that you had to have billet's for an e-brake. That's news to me. Kind of a bummer cause I wanted to get one just to have one.

Well I suppose you don't HAVE to have a billet input shaft, but it was HIGHLY recommended. There is a LOT of stress put on the input shaft with an e-brake and there is just too much inconsistancy with the stock input shaft. I was told that the stock intermediate and output shafts would be fine unless I started to push some serious hp/torque and/or did a bunch power braking (like in drag racing, etc.) or sled pulling. I plan to add some more power later, but nothing too radical since this is still my primary vehicle and I use it to tow my gooseneck (which is why I eventually want the e-brake).

Interesting. I plan on doing billet everything because I want 650hp on #2 as a minimum but I was hoping to do an e-brake this summer after the tranny got built without billets. Oh well.

I'm only looking for 500hp with awesome towing manners. So I definatley will need an E-brake. I guess the billet input shaft wont delay it too much longer.

as in a set off ddp4s and a stock turbo are a very bad match, spools very quick. as in quick enough to break the exhaust wheel off the shaft cause general mayhaem. i need to get a holt of jr and get my 55 pronto.

Cool

Got another package today..... 12 more pounds of goodies for the tranny. This box looks to be the master kit (all the clutches, steels, gaskets, bushings & seals), direct update kit, OD update kit, billet front servo & HD spring, billet accumulator, 4.4:1 servo arm..... blah blah blah. I'm sure the valve body, vb install kit and torque convertor will be showing up any day now.

OK, potential stupid question but............. I was under my truck tonight after work looking at all the various thing I'll need to disconnect in order to drop the tranny, making sure I can get to all of them, etc. etc. Just for grins, I decided to drop the inspection cover for a look see. Here's the question: how in the heck do you get to the TC bolts? 'cause you can't get to them through the inpsection cover like every other auto I've worked on in the past. I did notice an access cover on the passenger side below the oil/water heat exchanger and just above engine barring hole. It looks like it was pretty much in the arc of the TC bolts, so is that the access hole for them?
