Building a carbon fiber gauge pod

It's waiting on the final stage of carbon. I'm still gathering supplies for the vacuum bag process for the final layer so I can overlay one layer of carbon over the entire dash. *bling bling*

I've got it done! All it took was a 3 day vacation!

HaHa, Brandon's gauges would all read 0!! His engine is in my barn, and the guts of said engine are in the bed of his truck
Right now, it's Duramax powered via towstrap
I shouldn't make fun of him, he'll hand my butt to me when it's finally running
Pod looks good though, came out really nice,
Chris

This one cost over a $100 in supplies and took ~45 hours of work to finish. I made one because I needed to learn carbon fiber. www.scottyairsystems.com

Just so you all know...theres many different ways to skin a cat.
I like seeing alternatives. In North America we have choices. Carbon fiber is a lot of work. I looked at it for my air intakes as well as other products.
Another thing I could do or offer is to make a longer Dodge Pod. Not sure how much demand there would be.
Brandon, it soaks up a lot of time doing this huh?
I am currently exploring different processes for manufacturing of many different products. You may not see me on here as much as the time has come to ramp things up.
I have broken through the patent red tape and its full ahead now. What a hassle at the start. Some parts need a patent and others do not. Some cannot get a patent.
Just look at how many things got reverse engineered in this industry.
I sought out to do a better A pillar at one time and then realized...I needed to do something different then that.
Science is fun.

It takes an incredible amount of time for the development. The last time I checked, the Dodge Pods weren't in the DTR store... I should have just bought two and extended one of them. Or, used it for the mold.
The software industry (my day job) is a lot closer to the aftermarket truck industry than I originally thought! We have trouble getting trademarks after we make a ever-so-slight changes in the product names or revisions. I can't imagine working with both the US/CA patent offices. Then agian, we're also trademarked in Japan.
Good luck with the new products. The original Dodge Pod was like someone read my mind on gauge placement.

In all seriousness, thanks for the compliments. Hopefully this will inspire someone to do more work in carbon fiber... brandon.
I'm desiging my own pod, er well not my own it is a borrowed design from scotty, but since he said he has new ways of making things, I might throw together a drawing for him and leav it too him.
I dont need Carbon fiber in mine, although it would be cool though. A basic Scotty Pod wont quite work for me. I can never take the easy way.
