looks sweet - what color are you going to get it powdercoated? After building my own rear bumper, I wished I would not have went with double black. I didnt have it as smooth as I thought and it showed a few imperfections where the grinder did its thing. When I got mine powder coated they had a color that I was debating on using that looked like a gray on black, you could see both black and gray, which looked really good, and which is what I would recommend, to hide any imperfections in the smoothing of the welds.

The gray on Rips set of 2nd gen twins piping is the powdercoating I was referring to.

That is one heck of a fab job. Looks great. I just hope that angle iron does what you want it to do. Are you happy with the mounts?

The only thing that I dont like about the whole thing is the angle iron but the rest looks awesome. I havent looked to what to use but if it works thats good enough for me. It looks exactly like the one I was wanting to build though very nice job all together.

I ended up making brackets going from the end corners down to the frame to triangulate the whole thing. i put 3/8" tabs on the inside of the 3" and am bolting a 1" tube brace down to the frame on each side. the drives side is using two of the steering box bolts, the other side is using one existing hole and i drilled another to bolt the plate on.

its loaded in the truck now and is getting blasted in the morning. if all goes well tomorrow night it will be powdercoated.

not to worry on any orders, no-one can afford one

I would suggest adding some more bracing to the bottom half for the mounting- the Sch40 tube is strong enough to take a dear, but that angle iron and the leverage it will endure hitting said dear is not up to the task- triangulate the iron mounts too. Odds are the bumper will simply rotate back into the hood and grill in a front end collision. where impact is below the tube into the sheet the angle you have will force the bumper up too. Needs more resistance to rotational force- but looks pretty **** good.

hi guys, sorry computer broke, had to send it in. will have new pics on soon, it looks sweet.

as for the angle, we used it because we wanted to bring the mounts back into the frame, with just about three inches and three holes on the little tabs in front of the crossmember we did not think it was enough support for the bumper, especially if i was to hit anything.
