Which brand of exhaust to get?

Looking on Ebay, there are lots of choices. MBRP, WarpSpeed, MagnaFlow, etc. Which is the best? Also, does each kit give you the option of leaving out the muffler and instead putting a regular section of pipe in place of it?

I know it's not a popular brand around here....but I have the banks monster exhaust and I like it. Its quite when I want it to be, but lets out a bark when I get on it. Its the lighter grade ss, but I see you live in texas, so you don't have to worry about all the sand and salt rusting it like the guys up north. I live in ok and have had mine a yr and it still looks new.

Banks makes a VERY good exhaust. Just replace their crappy muffler with a better design. It's a little overpriced, but it's quality--- gentle transitions and wide bends in the pipe have to help flow.

Personally, I'd get Rip Rook's setup: www.sourceautomotive.biz

Summit has a very good system!!!! Good price, service, and quick delivery. Warpspeed and Summit use the same mufflers and both are great choices. I bought the WS before I noticed Summit.
Very happy with sound and looks. Lots of commets that it sounds like a big truck!! It does add cab noise though.

Do y'all put the mufflers on or replace them with a straight pipe? And do the kits come with a straight section of pipe to let you do this if you so choose?

AggiePhil,

Check out the MBRP, here's what you get:

100% welded hangers just like the stock system, makes install easy and looks so much better than the clamp on style hangers, plus they rust so much faster too.

Fully packed muffle rwith a cermamic blanket and stainless steel wool packig materials

Option to delete the muffler with w 36 inch muffler delete.

Available in aluminized for economy, 409 stainless and or 304 stainless if you want the best available material. The manufacturers now use 409 on all the new trucks as it last so much longer than what they have used in the past. They have to get past the emmissions warranties so they don't want to have any problems etc.

Check with folks like us and the other Sponsors here at DTR you might find the MBRP is the same cost and or maybe less than some of the systems with clamp on hangers and hollow core mufflers that are out there in the marketplace.

I got my MagnaFlow from Rip, and love it. Absolutely no fitment issues, sounds great, and should withstand some Ohio winters. And Rip is a great guy to work with.
