bov

i have one on my car so i know what they are and what they do and i don't want one on my dodge but i'm curious about if they even work on a diesel?

Diesel's don't usually need them as there is no throttle body in the intake to restrict the air movement. Some people use them in high power applications to prevent turbo bark/surge.
