Question Boost level?

At WOT at around 2200 RPM I'm getting 36 PSI boost. Is that safe? If I lift too fast at that point it barks pretty loud.

I don't make quite the boost you do with my 275's and VA (33 max) on the ol' 24v but she has seen many full boost throttle lifts for shifts. I've never seen a HX35 break due to huffing it and so far mine has been fine for 175k miles like that.

My bet is you are ok.

I believe the HO has the HX-35 Turbo. Probably safe at 35 psi but would not bark it. Bigger issue is you are over reving it to the point where the air it pumps is super heated and thinner - actually costing you HP.
Believe Max Boost on that turbo for efficient, reasonably cool air is 30-32 psi. I use to be able to feel the HP drop off on my stock turbo when it went over about 32 psi...just stopped pulling so well. More whine but felt weaker.

RR's manual should be an HX35.

Yep, That's what I meant, just not what I typed. Have corrected it.
Thanks

Is there any way to limit it to 32 PSI?

Controling Boost on HX-35

I have read somewhere There are adjustable Boost elbows. Will see if I saved it in my stored data -did not aply to my Automatic so may not have.
Might try a search or maybe someone else will chime in with info.
I got use to just controlling it with my foot till I replaced the turbo.

9:23 - Found it; don't know anyone who ever tried these, but this is the link... http://www.turbodieselregister.com/c...uery=retrieval

With my mods as below (EZ with DD2's), I'm seeing 34 PSIG at 1250 EGT towing our 13,500 lb 5th wheel. With the stock HO injectors and EZ, I saw 30 PSIG at 1100 EGT. These boost pressures were achieved using the boost elbow that came with the EZ. Do you have your wastegate line pinched off or your wastegate locked closed?
