Boost elbow
Just wondering if there is any possible way to put the boost elbow on my stock turbo for more boost. I already have the J-hook but the spring is getting weak from the heat. Any thoughts would help.

How would i go about that? There is a hard plastic line that goes from the wastgate to where the boost elbow would go on the normal hx35 but not the hy-9

That would not work. I made a mistake anyway the line is metal not plastic. I have heard of guys pinching it but i'm not sure i wanna take thatchance of over boosting and blowing the head gasket.

Why don't you use a turn buckle instead of the J-rod?

Yeah get it at a hardware store. It's kind of a trial and error situation, getting the right size and then adjusting the way you want, but it works.

I have some long drill bits and drilled a 1/4" hole in that flange on the turbo for a neater install but if you need a bit thats about 12" long.

You don't need to remove the turbo. Look at those pictures I linked to and do a search using turnbuckle and you'll find a lot more info.

heck yea you could use a boost elbow my stock turbo still has it on there even tho i dont use that turbo any more

Turnbuckle works way better than the j-hook. I hit 32 lbs all day long till 4th gear then 35 lbs. EGT's are lower too. With the j-hook i was only hiting 24 lbs and it was adjusted all the way up. Thanks guys.

I used a boost controller you could cut your metal line and put it in line you can then mount it in a easy to get to spot to adjust. Heres a link to the one I got.
