boost drops off

Today I floored my truck running it through the gears, I did this three times. It would go up to 31 psi and and about 2700 rpms it would start to drop off to 28 psi. Run it up to 3000 rpms then it would shift and go back up to 31 psi and art 2700 rpms the same thing. Does this sound normal?

Thanks
Dan

Perfectly normal, The ECM tells the injector pump to start defueling at approx. 2700 RPM's.

This is where the 3000 Governor Spring Kit or 4000 GSK come into play. It allows your motor to keep fueling up to those numbers or close to them. With the 4000 GKS, it is recommended to get the 60 lbs valve springs installed, unless your truck already have them due to being newer then my 1992 (which do not have them).

24 valves like Dan has don't use them either. His truck sounds normal to me.

Boy, you newer 24 valvers have all the fun. I'm still stuck with my old 1st gen 12 valve thing though it goes like a raped ape...

I haven't installed my 3000 gsk just yet. Too **** cold out to be working outdoors with the pump apart. Plus being winter and plowing, I might just wait until spring time. I have enough power for now pushing snow. But summer time watch out, need MORE power to spin my 315x70's all over the place even more then I can before.

Perfectly normal. It's just the truck defueling. Put an edge drag comp on there and watch the boost stay at 31 all the way to red line.

There are several options for fueling boxes to help with the defueling above 2700 RPM. As mentioned Edge's Drag Comp does this on level 5. Then there is the Redline Fueling box that allows RPM all the way to 4000. TST makes a box that does extreme fueling as well...... Check out all your options though as all are not created equal.

My Edge EZ allows me to fuel past 2700 too.... I don't think it's supposed to but it does.
