every once in a while i see in someones signature that they are getting 35psi clear up to 46 psi of boost with a stock turbo in a automatic trans. how are they getting that much boost ? the most i can get with my ctd truck is a little over 30

 

I'd bet they have the Wastegate disabled with a turnbuckle.

With your turbo you don't want much over thirty. Past that is hot air, and over 40 is overspeeding the turbo. They are over fueled, and probabally have EGT issues, and are risking blowing up a turbo...

 

One question is where are they taking the pressure reading for the boost? My edge uses the MAP sensor, and the max I have seen from that is 24 psi. While a buddy a work has a gauge and sender and gets readings in the 30 psi range, and his only mod's are a 4" exhaust and a Superchips programmer.

 

I noticed when I hooked an OBD reader the boost was much higher than what my gauge reads off the intake manifold via a boost bolt.

 

I have Di Pricol gages. My boost pressure is measured at the unused port behind the MAP sensor. My max is 36PSI.
