On Board Air

Lets hear about and see your setups. In particular I'm going to be running a US Gear D-celerator air actuated brake (4inch) and possibly an air horn. I'd like to be able to use some air tool, refill tires, etc if not too much trouble.

What would you suggest. I'm new to this, so links, pictures and explanations are always appreciated!

THANKS

kilby enterprises makes a pretty cool kit for on board air. it's driven from the engine and puts out quite a bit of air. if you google on board air you can find a lot of do it yourself info too

here is another link for a 12v set up but i think the total cash outlay would be close to the same at the kilby set up

Which system would you suggest to run the air horn and the d-celerator brake?

Thanks....

I've had the kilby setup on my trucks for years. Can't hardly get by without it. I have ruined a couple of compressors in the last 8 years but it was my fault with air leaks that ran the compressor to much.

I'm looking at the Air-Zenith. 2.9 psi, 100% duty cycle @ 200 PSI and it does not need to be inside the vehicle. $320.00

I've been running a 100% duty cycle Viair compressor connected to a 5 gal tank tucked under my pass rear fender... Have been running this setup for 3+ years now... run 4" pacbrake, air jack, air tools, etc... Does well for most things, definitely needs some recycle time using high CFM tools, but plenty of air to brake loose all eight lugs with the impact...

about $220 invested total
